Paso A Casa ("we," "us," "our"), a property of Brownsville Living, operates pasoacasa.com (the "Site"). This policy describes what information we collect from visitors, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
Information We Collect
Contact form. Our Contact Us page asks for your name, email address, phone number (optional), and message (optional).
Rent vs. Mortgage Calculator report request. After using the calculator, you may choose to enter your first name, email address, phone number (optional), and whether you're interested in talking to a local expert, to receive your results by email. We also send, as part of that email, the figures you already calculated on this Site (target home price, down payment, estimated monthly payment, current rent, and your 5-year rent-vs-buy outlook) — nothing you haven't already seen on-screen, formatted into the report you asked for.
Locally stored preferences and progress. This Site uses your browser's local storage (not a cookie) to remember your language preference (English/Spanish) and your progress on our interactive tools (e.g., saved results from the rent-vs-mortgage calculator), so that information isn't lost if you leave and come back. This information stays in your own browser — it is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. You can clear it at any time through your browser's own settings.
We do not collect: payment information (we do not process payments on this Site), account credentials (there are no user accounts), or any information beyond what's listed above.
How We Use Your Information
Contact form submissions are relayed securely, server-side, to our team, so we can respond to your message and follow up if you've indicated interest in buying a home in the Rio Grande Valley. We do not currently have an automated email newsletter or drip-marketing system — follow-up, if any, is manual today. If this changes, this policy will be updated to reflect it before it goes live.
Calculator report requests are relayed the same way to our team, and — because this form specifically asks to email you your results — we also send an automated email directly to the address you provide, containing the report you asked for. This is the only form on this Site that emails you back directly rather than only notifying our team.
Locally stored preferences and progress are used only to make the Site work better for you across visits. We do not use this information for any other purpose, and — because it never reaches us — we could not use it for another purpose even if we wanted to.
Cookies & Analytics
We do not use cookies of any kind on this Site today — essential or non-essential. The language and progress features described above use browser local storage instead, which is not a cookie and is not sent to any server. We do not currently use Google Analytics or any other analytics or advertising tool. If that changes, this policy will be updated, and any non-essential tracking will not begin firing until you've actively consented.

We do not sell or share your personal information with any third party for their own marketing purposes, and we do not have any advertising or ad-targeting vendor at this time. If this ever changes, this policy will be updated before any such vendor is added.
Your Rights
California residents (CCPA): We do not sell or share your personal information with any third party for their own commercial purposes. Because no such sale or sharing occurs, this statement itself is our CCPA "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" disclosure. If our practices ever change to include a sale or sharing of personal information, we will implement and disclose a real opt-out mechanism before that change takes effect, not after.
Access and deletion requests (all visitors): You may request access to, or deletion of, any personal information we hold about you by contacting us at privacy@pasoacasa.com. We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable time. This is currently a manual process, appropriate for a business of our size.
Data Security
All data submitted through this Site is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Contact form submissions are relayed through a secure, server-side process — your information is never transmitted with an exposed API key or in a way readable from this Site's own source code. Once delivered, your information is also encrypted at rest by both parties that handle it: Resend (our email-relay provider) and the email service receiving the notification.
Language / Idioma
This policy is available in both English and Spanish, matching this Site's full-parity bilingual standard. In the event of any difference between the two versions, the English version governs.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our practices change. Any update will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Material changes (a new data recipient, a new type of information collected) will not be made without updating this disclosure first.
